Fahrenheit 451 Throughout Ray Bradburys novel, Fahrenheit 451, the of implication character, Guy Montag, conveys a sense of closed mindedness. What he is told or what he is shown is, to him, considered the right and only way. His burning of the books, his incapability to hypothesise beyond what has been taught to him. Yet, this comes to a screeching halt when he bumps into the new-made, 17 year old Clarisse McClellan, a lady who is not panic-struck to think outside of the box and has no problem doing it. later on Clarisse disappears from Montags carriage, he soon finds someone else to fill in her missing spot, Professor Faber.
